    Little Girls in Summer Dresses

It's summer time, and the living is easy.

I love going to the beach with my daughters, and watching them run barefoot in the sand. Twirling in their summer dresses, I feel so blessed. And the next day, they insist on wearing their summer sun dress again, as they feel so cool, comfortable and magical on them.

Love these little girl sun dresses so much, that I built a whole new website to show case them, http://www.RecurrentDreamsBaby.com (link). They are handcrafted in Long Beach, California, exclusively for us at www.RecurrentDreams.com, and come in 5 whimsical summer prints. View these timeless classics at our new speciality site, www.RecurrentDreamsBaby.com, or at our main webpage, www.RecurrentDreams.com. Have a wonderful summer, full of memories to last a lifetime!

    Bees Knees

"Why didn't I think of that!" is everyone's comment when they see these pants on display at our Long Beach shop.

My mother discovered these pants at a children's show in Toronto, and promptly emailed me in California, about this great invention. And guess what, Mothers do know best!

In fact, these pants where designed by a Mompreneur, Tammany Atkinson, from Mississauga, Canada. She was crawling around on her tile floor with her young son when she realized how sore it made her knees. She searched for a product that would help protect a baby's delicate knees from the scrapes and bruises that come with crawling on hard surfaces, but when she realized there was nothing available, she decided to invent it. Her company, Bee's Knees, makes baby pants with padded knees.

These high performance crawler pants are both stylish & comfortable, available in pink, khaki & denim. With reinforced crawler kneepads, an elastic waistband, and a roomy fit, they come in sizes 6/12 mths & 12/18 mths.

A portion of the proceeds are donated to The Learning to Listen Foundation, teaching children who are deaf how to hear, listen, talk and sing through Auditory Verbal Therapy.

Now available at our online store, at www.RecurrentDreams.com. Link to product: http://estore.websitepros.com/805672/Detail.bok?no=136

    Lemon Drops

Refreshing Lemon Drops for Summer. Love the retro print, kind of early 70's Goldie Hawn's style. Ja Ja Babywear's fashions are trendy yet classic, using vintage prints on classic styles. Very hip, in fact they have been selling like hotcakes in the trendier boutiques on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. But, hey, Long Beach is hip and happening too. After all, we have Ja Ja Babywear at Recurrent Dreams!

Visit our Online boutique to see the Classic Button Down Little Boy's Shirt and Little Girl's Halter Dress. Love the Lemon Drop print! http://www.RecurrentDreams.com

Tom Cruise gets a nice gift

Do not attempt to adjust your monitors. What you are seeing is real. Very real.

The above picture is, yes, in fact the exact Baby Jogger that baby Tomkitten Suri will ride in, parked outside of Mr. Cruise's house. Truth Be Told PR Firm sent Katie and Tom the gift on Tuesday, along with a few other little items from their clients. The box you see inside the stroller contained an Oopa Baby Sling in Chambray Fabric, a Lil Dipper Essentials Gift Set, a Forty Weeks New Mother Comfort Kit, a Baby Daze New Baby Organizer, and Bravado Lifestyle Microfiber Nursing Bra.

    Two new celebrity babies!

Yes, two in one day! Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise welcomed a baby girl named Suri today. Suri was born at the couple's home apparently. No word yet on rather or not the birth was silent. And Brooke Sheilds also welcomed a baby daughter named Grier Hammond Henchy. Grier it appears however, was born in a hospital.

    World Cup Babies

Everyone knows the English like their soccer. I just had no idea it started so young.

English baby superstore Mothercare has a whole line of Team England gear for little ones, just in time for the World Cup. Clothes, shoes, hats, and even this cute little stroller with an English Soccer Flag on it (also available are an parasol and a stroller blanket). I also like the kid's swim cape because it reminds me of the time I was in England during the Euro Cup and a man was running down the street wearing only one these (or something similar I would assume).

    Pint size furniture celebrities love

This month's People Magazine features an article on Jennifer Delonge, celebrity mom and children's furniture designer. Jennifer is married to Tom DeLonge, lead singer and guitarist for Blink-182, and is also mom to Ava (4). Jennifer was an interior designer and owned her own paper store until January of this year when she decided that it was too difficult finding child size furniture for her daughter. She started Jennifer DeLonge Children's Furniture soon after, and celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Courteney Cox, and Britney Spears have all bought pieces.

Jennifer currently designs chairs, ottomans, tables, and stools for kids and they're being sold in many upscale stores including Barney's. She's currently working on a line of blankets, multi-functional modern toy storage and Flokati poofs. You can check out her website to see all her pretty designs and find a store near you.

New gift pack from Dr. Moz

Dr. Moz is a friend of mine who came up with a really cool idea last year. It was called the Goodfather CD-ROM, a colorful tale that teaches new fathers all about babies. Now Dr. Moz has teamed up with Duds4Dads to bring you the PaPa Pack. The PaPa Pack gift combo combines two of the most popular gifts for new and expecting dads in one. The sling style Extreme Bandolier by Duds4Dads has a build-in, wipe-clean changing pad, and all-weather nylon built to last. Packed inside the main diaper bag compartment, is of course the Goodfather CD-ROM.

Quite a nice gift for a new dads and it's apparently selling out quite quick.

    Star Watch

Child Magazine has a fairly new feature on their site called "Star Watch". It's a section dedicated to featuring products that celebrity moms use and also tells you where you can find them. I usually don't post stuff like this, because quite frankly a lot of magazines and product companies don't always tell the truth when they say a celebrity owns this or that. But this one looks pretty legit, as I have seen many of the celebrities mentioned with the actual products.

There are quite a few nice items mentioned, including a few of my favorites like the Art Farm gift baskets and Tigex silverware. It is worth a read.

    New Ducduc Rockers

Modern baby company Ducduc has some new furniture out. They've designed several modern baby rockers, and even a rocker holtser. The rockers are definitly unique in design and come in a variety of different colors. The holster is pretty cool too, with lots of pockets for holding a variety of things. I've never seen one of these before. I wonder if they only fit Ducduc's rockers?

    Available at Sparkability.

    Orlando News

Well I just got home from a horrible airport fiasco. Our flight was overbooked, so we had to drive home! Orlando was nice though. Except for the fact that the wireless internet system didn't work for several days, hence the lack of posting here. But I did find some nice stores.

Oilily - At the Mall at Millenia. A decent selection, and they had the new line in.

Burberry - Also at the MAM. They had a nice selection of too, mostly infants and though.

Neiman Marcus - They seemed to be out of a lot of stuff. Probably inbetween seasons. they had a Bugaboo Cameleon though, in yellow and blue. That's a nice combo.

Zara - I had not been in this Spanish store before, but it was a pretty cool place. They had a lot of nice clothing for kids.

Disney tips - Go early. Disney, unlike Universal, does not sell fast pass tickets. You can only have one at a time. So you have to wait regardless. Also make sure you go up the correct side of the monorail line, or they get mad. Very mad.

    Silver Cross Pram spotting

I'm in Orlando, hence the lack of posting. But I just wanted to add this semi-celebrity stroller siting. I went to Universal Studios today and guess what I saw on the Men In Black? A Silver Cross Pram....carrying an alien of course! Kind of expensive for a ride prop, but there it was. I'll be posting some info on Orlando shops soon, so be looking for that.

Get a Siver Cross Pram at Albee's.

Celebrity Babies and some more Britney

Britney Spears and son Sean took a trip to Ralph's grocery this week in Malibu. Sean road in the baby cart, while Britney shopped. The above picture and some more can be viewed on RTL's website. RTL is also doing a special on celebrity babies, with loads of neat pictures.

    Nostalgic in California

When shopping for my children's boutique, Recurrent Dreams, I always seem to revert back to my mother's instinct. Once I decided on our spring look, "Nostalgic Beach Living", the rest seemed to fall in place. Let me share with you, my mother's instinct criteria:

Comfort: too many times my children have complained that the beautiful dress I had bought them was too itchy & confining!

Emotion: call me sentimental, but it makes my heart sing to see my children dressed for Easter.

Quality, Uniqueness and Price: I would rather pay a little bit more, and have something that does not fall apart after the 3rd washing, however there is a limit on how much I will pay.

This spring, I was blessed to find all my criteria met from small California companies, such us Kumquat, Nobody's Business, Reflectionz, and Barefoot Dreams (although they are not so small since Oprah discovered them!). I invite you to post, your Mother's Instinct list too.

Right Start to carry Stokke seat for baby

The Right Start now carries the baby seat attachment for the Stokke Kinderseat. The small rail attachment allows babies as young as 6 months old to now use the chair, whereas without it the child must be 18 months old in order to sit in the Kinderseat. Not sure what colors it comes in, as there is no picture available on the website yet. However this is the first I have heard of the seat attachment being sold in the United States.

    Denise in Malibu

Actress Denise Richards was seen having a grand ole time on Wednesday. She and her two daughters were photographed at Malibu's infamous Country Mart, known for it's celebrity shoppers and it's upscale boutiques. Denise is shown trying to feed Sam, while Lola sits next to her on someone else's lap. And while only Lola's foot is exposed, that's all we needed to see. She's wearing Trumpette's Ballerina socks, available at Kitson.

Malibu Country Mart is also home to quite a few nice baby stores including Planet Blue Kids, Shabby Chic, and 98% Angel.

Russell Crowe and his Mountain Buggy

Actor and sometimes fighin' man, Russell Crowe, was seen out and about with his son Charlie, taking Charlie's cool new ride for a spin. Charlie has added a Mountain Buggy to his collection of wheels, sending the Stokke Xplory off to the garage. No word yet on what stroller the Crowe family has selected for their second son, due later this year. However, you yourself can pick up a Mountain Buggy at Buy Buy Baby.

Jacadi has a new website up

The American website for Jacadi has been updated. The online store, which now features the spring line, is much better this time around. I don't think they are sending out a mail order catalog anymore but if someone knows, please contact me because I love those. They've also got a contest going where you can win a $200 dollar gift certificate, so check out their site when you get time.

    Cakes Made with Love

I first met Sylvia about 6 years ago, at work (pre Recurrent Dreams). Soon we became friends, and I came to know her as a very spiritual positive person. One day she brought a wonderful cake in for a co-worker's birthday. Much to my admiration, she told me that she had baked it herself. As a hobby, she had been taking cake decorating classes, and she loved it!

Well her love for baking developed into a passion, and shortly after she was making cakes for her family & friends, and their family & friends . . . & naturally for all our fairy events and birthday parties at Recurrent Dreams. If you ask Sylvia what makes her cakes so incredible, she simply says "They're made with Love".

Well, she is going to take a leap in faith, and open her own storefront in Downey, California! The name of her shop will be "Made with Love". She will continue baking & decorating cakes (& delivering them too), but will also be teaching classes and selling baking supplies, so you can create your own edible masterpiece! I wish her well, as she builds her dreams.

To contact "Made with Love', you can email Sylvia at smedina791@aol.com

Look for lots of other neat things from Boppy this year too. Available at Buy Buy Baby.

Lots of products on People's website

People Magazine has a special section up on their website about Celebrity mothers. Lots of pretty pictures and some nice quotes, and of course some posh products for the babies. Here's what they've got, in order:

    Best & Co. Sping

Greenwich store Best & Company has their spring line out now, on their website and in their two stores. Lots of cute tradional clothing for kids. I really like the baby stuff. The store, owned by Susie Hilfiger, sells their own line of clothing along with stuff from Marie Chantal and Baby CZ. You can visit them on Greenwich Ave, in Greenwich, CT or at Berdorf Goodman in New York City.

    New Oeuf Bouncer

I was so happy when I saw this. Oeuf has updated their bouncer, um....I mean baby lounger! It comes in a quilted, deeply padded canvas version now, and the cover is machine washable too! But of course they also kept some great features too like the satin-chrome steel frame and the pretty design. Available in raspberry and blue at giggle.

    icandy

I found an ad for this company in the UK magazine Junior (the baby version). Icandy is a new baby gear company in England and so far they have three very cool products. The ic2 is a travel system, complete with car seat and lightweight stroller. And my favorite, the icandy apple, which is pictured above. The apple is similar to the Bugaboo in many ways, but also looks a lot like Quinny strollers. You can attach a Maxi Cosi Cabrio to it as well.

No word yet on where they're sold, but that appears to be coming soon on the website.

    True Religion Knits

True Religion recently launched a new area of clothing: knits. I was invited to attend their launch party to cover the kids' knits, however I couldn't go (too much at work). However, they did send me a link to the images of the party on Wireimage. If you have an account there, you can see all the cool stuff. M. Fredric's hosted the event and will carry the line.

    Gwen digs NOM

When singer Gwen Stefani was in need of a really hip dress for Grammy night, she knew where to turn. Naissance On Melrose, better known as NOM, has dressed pregnant stars and regular moms alike for years. NOM made Gwen this beautiful white dress for the show and it was featured in Hollywood Daily along with an article on NOM. NOM was started by a former public relations executive in LA and has since spread across the country, with their designs in many stores.

If you're ever in LA, do check out their original store on Melrose.

    Zahara's bottle

Baby Zahara was spotted in Paris, along with Brad Pitt, with a rather hip looking baby bottle. Well at least I think so. Zahara, as you can see, disagreed because she threw it on the ground. Oh well. If you think it's hip like I do, you can pick one up at Sparkability. It's called the Colors Baby Bottle and it's only $9.50. Not too bad, especially since B. Pitty may be looking for another one right now.

New J&J collection coming out at midnight

Janie and Jack are getting a big giant mega-collection for Easter in their stores tomorrow. Usually this means the stuff goes online at midnight, so if you can stay up that late you'll get a sneak peak before the malls do. If you can't, I'll give you one myself as I have seen it in their books (I'm special). Lots of pretty pinks for girls and lots of flowers. The boys' stuff is blue and green, and the new layette is very pretty (looks similar to the bigger kids). In fact I was holding off on buying a baby shower gift until this came in.

    Seal's baby wears Robeez

Remember that really wrinkly baby Seal had a few months ago? Well it now seems to have outgrown that stage in its life, as you can see here. Seal was photographed with the baby and his stepdaughter Leni out and about, and look what the baby wore! Robeez! Everyone's favorite slip-on baby shoe, sold almost everywhere. And if you haven't seen their newest booties, just check out their website. Some seriously cute stuff on there.

    Giggle opens more stores

What started in San Francisco as the hippest modern baby shop in town, has made its way across county. Giggle has taken New York City. That's right, baby store Giggle just recently opened two stores, one in Soho and one on the Upper East Side. Now New Yorkers can enjoy one-stop modern baby shopping, since Giggle carries just about everything. Their online store rocks too, if you can't get to NYC or the Bay area.

    Dream Wish Baby . . . Naturally

"I promise the ocean . . you will hear the beating of it's heart against the shores. I promise the forests . . you will share the whispers of their pines."

These inspiration words from Lisa Humphrey's book, "A Mother's Promise", got me thinking. Like all parents, I am concerned about the safety of children in today's world; and the condition of our planet for our children's children. I had heard of natural baby products . . but wasn't sure if it made a difference. A few google searches later, I became a believer. One thing lead to another, and to another, and so my natural baby venture began. My new site www.DreamWishBaby.com is dedicated to a baby's seventh sense, purity. Join me, in honoring "A Mother's Promise", the spirit within us all.

It's funny how one book can be so inspiring. Now that's a gift of reading! Thank you Lisa (and David Danioth, illustrator, too).

    Jacadi's New Crib

Jacadi's 2006 Nursery catalog will be coming out with their Spring/Summer line soon and they've got some pretty neat stuff in there. One of them is the above "see-through" crib. It's not very big, but it's way cool looking. The baby can see out, and you of course can see in at all times. The crib goes with all their crib linens, including the new lines. Avaiable in the spring.

*note* This is a European crib and conforms to their safety standards.

    Rod Stewart wears a Whoozit

Rocker and dad can mix well. At least for Rod Stewart it can. Seen here with baby Alastair, Rod is shown wearing his son's toy Whoozit as a pants accessory. Quite a step down from Versace belts. Rod and wife Penny were out shopping when the press snapped up these pictures, which can be seen on German tv station RTL's website. They've got all kinds of photos, including one of Rod and Penny with their blue and yellow Bugaboo Cameleon.

Rod is also pictured carrying the baby in a Graco Snugride. The other toy shown is from Lamaze, but I don't think it's sold anymore. They've replaced it with a different Octopus toy.

*Edit* Greg at Daddytypes is right. He is kind of daring you to look at his crotch.

    Martha's Baby Gear

I wonder if these were designed in prison?

I kid, I kid. No nasty Martha hate mail please. Anyhow, Martha Stewart makes some pretty stuff. And over the past few years, she has made some pretty baby stuff. Check out some of the chic gear on her website, including this cute-as-a-button Basic Baby Kit. Of course, like all things Martha you have to make it yourself. No freebies. However, it looks fairly easy (if you're crafty) and it's the nicest looking safety/health set I've seen so far. Check it out at MarthaStewart.com

(note: I'm talking about the stuff on her website, not the Kmart brand. They are actually separate things all together.)

    Oeuf gets a dresser

Modern baby company Oeuf is expanding its furniture line. Their stylish crib, which came out last year, has apparently done so well that now they've added a dresser. Before, the changer was attached to the crib and sold separatly. They're still selling the changer on its own, but now they've got a pretty little matching dresser you can place it on as well. Sold at Sparkability.

Charlie Sheen is making kids' clothes?

I know celebrities like to make extra money by designing their own clothing line, but this one really threw me. Actor and sometimes bad boy, Charlie Sheen, is going to design clothing for kids. Girl kids. Sheen has teamed up with his friend Michael Bernes to produce a 75-piece clothing line for girls ranging in price from $20 - $80. The hip clothes go on sale next month at LA boutique Kitson.

The clothes were apparently inspired by Sheen's own three daughters.

Babystyle gets some new clothes for spring

Trendy store babystyle has some new looks out. This season, they've totally remade their First Wardrobe layette pieces. Cream is out and white is for the new looks, which include a lap bodysuit for the first time ever (pictured above) and a diaper cover. All the colors are new as well. Some other new patterns include butterfly blossoms for girls and fun fishies for boys.

Expect their new catalog out soon.

    Britney makes Combi cry

Or at least they should be crying.

Stroller and baby gear company Combi makes such cool stuff. In fact, their carseat the Connection (owned by Spears) is one of the best infant seats around. It has a five point harness, special foam in the headrest for impact protection, and it's got LATCH. And guess what else? It's not that freakin complicated to put a baby in! Just lay the kid down, buckle the top harness, and then put the five little sections together at the bottom. Combi even has a virtual demo on their website.

Yet for some reason Brit, who spent $150 for the seat, didn't even try. Poor Combi. This isn't the celebrity rub they wanted.

*edit* It has been reported elsewhere that Britney owns another carseat in addition to this one. I cannot confirm that. The Combi Connection is the only one I have seen her with.

    Gwen shops in style

Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale sure know how to shop. The pair recently were spotted at the chic London store Elias and Grace, a baby and maternity shop, where the couple spent 13,000 pounds (around $26,000!). Gwen adored the clothing by French baby company Petit Bateau and bought pretty much the entire range in all different sizes and colors (neutral colors, mostly). Gwen also stocked up on maternity wear by Vivienne Westwood and See By Chloe. Nice choices.

Gwen plans to start her own line of maternity clothing soon.

    The Maxi Cosi Tobi

Maxi Cosi's newest child seat, the Tobi, is made for parents in a hurry. That's what the company is saying about it's newest invention, which was designed by experts in child safety to be quick and east to use. How does it work? Automatic seat belts! Yes, the safety belts on the seat open and close automatically with the touch of a button. When the belts have been fastened on the baby, the green ‘All-clear' button tells you that your child have been secured safely and properly. Too bad Maxi Cosi still hasn't made it over here yet. You can of course order them from Baby Care nl and also Baby Concierge will ship to the USA.

    Over the Rainbow

The Wizard of Oz is one of those movies! My mother remembers when it was first released, and whenever it played on television (in the sixties), she would let us stay up late and make us cinnamon toast. And my two girls . . . Halloween . . . Ruby Red Slippers . . . sound familiar? We all have our Dorothy memories, yet somehow I wonder why our family pet is a Cairn Terrier? So of course I had to get the whole line of Cuddle Factory's Wizard of Oz Beanie Characters for the shop. How could I choose between Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Lion, and Glenda? For all us OZ fans, follow the yellow brick road to our store link Recurrent Dreams : http://estore.websitepros.com/805672/Detail.bok?no=93

    Not so Desperate Housewives

I am always excited, when I get a new item in the shop. Especially when it's an asian inspired brocade "Kecci's Shanghai Mommy Bag"! It is similar to Petunia Pickle Bottoms, the celebrity status diaper bag, but a fraction of the price, at $58! Lynette (Desperate Housewives) can keep her $150 Petunia Pickle Bottom Bag. Life is different away from Wisteria Lane, but if Gabrielle saw our Shanghai Bag she would definitely use it as a yoga / spa bag. Then she would treat herself to a facial! View it my online store, Recurrent Dreams. http://estore.websitepros.com/805672/Detail.bok?no=72

    Pronto Changer

The newest creation from Skip Hop is the Pronto Mini Changer, a portable changing station that's small enough to fit in a diaper bag or attach to a stroller. The changer comes with a wipe-clean and removable chaning pad complete with head pillow, a translucent wipes case, a large mesh pocket, and a front zipper pocket. Sold at Modern Seed and other hip baby stores.

Lots of Kate Spade for baby

Designer Kate Spade just won't quit with the cool baby stuff! This season she has out a lot of neat accessories like a diaper holder, a baby organizer, and this cute little bottle holder above. The bottle holder is insulated to keep the bottle cold and attaches to strollers with it's snap side. Fits most bottles. I also really like the diaper holder, such a neat idea. Also check out Kate Spade's Maclaren collection too.

    New Tea Collection

Designer label Tea has their new collection online now. Daily Tea 2006, Essentials 2006, and the Spring 2006 line are all up. New this season are pajamas, for both boys and girls. The line for spring this year is composed of mostly darker colors, but they are very pretty. A few new things for the Eternal Layette collection are up too. I'm thinking one of these days they are going to totally re-make that.

    Pacifier Dryer

This is too cute! The Pacifier Dryer is sold on Netto's offical website and is the first of it's kind. This little wooden board holds wet (or dry) pacifiers and keeps them clean until they are ready for use. It's made in Finland actually (so many cool products come from that area of the world) by a company called Seimi Baby Collection. I haven't seen any other products by them, but I sure hope I do.
