Milkdudz: A Cool Cover-Up

Want to breastfeed in public, but not have it be so, uh....public? Try Milkdudz! Milkdudz is dedicated to designing refreshing, innovative, stylish products for all breastfeeding moms. That's why they started with the The BabyMina, a breastfeeding cover-up made of organic material, which is also currently the only nursing cover-up on the market that allows eye-to-eye contact between baby and mommy while not completely covering up the baby entirely.

It's also got a nifty utility pocket inside which is made to hold breastpads for mommy or anything else you might need. The BabyMina can also be used as a changing pad or blanket, and rolls up small enough to fit nicely in the diaper bag. You can buy one online, or at several stores listed on their website.

Star of the Show

We have teamed up with Thrifty Mama, over at the Daily Stroll, and she has so nicely agreed to write articles for us every so often on cool and upscale baby products. Here's a recent one:

Star of the Show

Let's just face it- you are not the star anymore.

So you got highlights and a new haircut and you mopped the kitchen floor- well guess what? No one noticed. Someone has taken your place as royal highness of the household and you better get used to it. Now you may be upset and concerned about this derailment of focus on you since you spent 9 months getting all of the attention and then BAM! Faster than you can say Emeril your beloved baby has taken the reigns and is driving the attention buggy all over the place. You don't mind though and this I can figure is for 2 reasons, 1. Your child is just so darn cute that why shouldn't they be getting all of the attention, and 2. You would rather no one pay attention to the extra junk you are still carrying in your trunk and the fact that you did your highlights yourself and they didn't come out right.

Fortunately for little show stealing babies all over the world there is a new line of duds to boost their ego even more than it already has been. BabyStar.com

The designs are fabulous, the textures and soft luxurious feelings are indescribable and that is just the line of bibs!

Jordan shops at Mothercare

Supermodel and soon-to-be mom again Jordan (aka Katie Price) was photographed shopping over the weekend at UK mega-baby store Mothercare in Crawley, West Sussex with fiance Peter Andre. Katie's baby is due in a few weeks, as you can probably tell and it will be her second and Peter's first.

Katie was seen buying clothes for both a boy and a girl because she does not want to know what sex of their baby is. Peter, who does know, also bought a book on names.

Traveling with the kid

I recently added this link to our lovely line-up, and I felt the need to share why. Jetsetbaby is a store selling travel products, and the best around. They've really got some neat stuff there, like some of the coolest looking travel beds I have ever seen. Plus they sell the some neato feeding products like the chalkroll and those sweet little bibs clips. So check them out if you have a few minutes or are planning a summer getaway with baby!

Posh blankets for the babies of the stars

Appearing in InStyle Magazine this month, Lucky Jade cashmere blankets have taken Hollywood by storm. Loved by Courtney Cox and Debra Messing, these blankets are made from 100% cashmere yarn and come in all sorts of modern designs and colors. I just think they are awesome! They are sold online and in stores, and the only thing missing on their site is a store list. I think that would be helpful. Other than, former clothing designer Leslie Pitts's has done a great job creating these special little "blankies".

Product Review FAQ

Do you review baby products for this website

Yes we do. All items sent to us to be reviewed must be NEW and in the original packaging. We must also be able to keep the item, as we cannot not gurantee it's safe return once a baby has tested it, sat in it, possibly spit up on it, etc. We do not pay shipping.

Updating soon!

I know it's been a while since I got the links updated and I plan to do so this weekend. Please, if you sent me a link for consideration and I have not yet posted, resend it to my email.

The awards section will not be up until May, I think. I do not have the time to put the html together right now, but hopefully very soon.

The Happy Horse

Need some modern designs for your little ones? Black Beauties, a children's furniture collection by Dutch designer Ineke Hans, sells just that. The Happy Horse is one of many pieces featured by the company that is made with 100% recycled plastic and is wind-, water-, salt-, acid-, UV-resistant. Made in modern black, the horse (as with all the other furniture made by Black Beauties) will not be an eye sore in the hip household.

You can check out the pony and other Black Beauties products at Modern Child, the new L.A.-based online store founded by a mom on a mission to find the safe and friendly stuff for her new mod baby. It's a pretty cool place, with some hard to find stuff and some neato fashion.

Denise in Malibu

Denise Richards spent some time with Baby Sam on a trip to the shops in Malibu. Denise visited the celebrity loved County Mart, home to 98% Angel, Blue Kids, and Shabby Chic Baby. Denise's second child is due in June and she is currently going through a divorce from her husband, actor Charlie Sheen.

And while you probably don't want her life right now, you might want to pick up that cute stroller! You can buy your own Silver Cross Micro at Bare Babies.

First look at Peg Perego's playard

Meet the Peg Perego Pappa Nanna portable crib, formerly known as the Vogue Travel Crib. Not sure why they changed the name. Or it's possible that this is the Martinelli version so it has a different name. Anyhow, it has some neat features. It's two inches taller than standard portable cribs, so baby can use it longer and the changing table attaches to the top rail at a convenient height. It also has a “twist & lift” mechanism to open or fold. It's based on their European design that the company has sold over there for years.

But will it do well here? It lacks a lot of the features that other playards have, like Graco's music boxes, diaper stations, nightlites, and vibrations. Although it has a sleak and modern design, not as stand-outish as other playards. Modern parents might prefer it.

You can buy it online now at Bare Babies.

Combi's new travel system

DK-5 Ultra Lite from Combi is the newest travel system to hit the market and it is for sure a step up from Combi's other travel systems in the past. The handle on the Connection carseat is a million times better than that of the Tyro. Plus the shape and the size of the new stroller makes it a winner. The Ultra Savy had issues, but when I saw this one today I knew Combi had made big improvements this year.

A friend of mine has the Ultra Savy System and I hate it. I'd actually buy this one though.

Available at Bare Babies.

The Next Big Birthday Hangout

Founded by Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph) and Jeff Rubin, Dylan's Candy Bar is a cool, modern candy shop that looks like Willie Wanka married Dwell Magazine. Filled with creative and scrumptious treats, Dylan's Candy Bar offers not only sweets from around the world, but novelty candy items and candy-scented spa items too.

When I walked into the store in Orlando's Florida Mall, I felt like I was inside a giant fashion boutique......yet it's candy! Seriously, that's the best way to describe it. It's an EXPERIENCE to say the least. Chocolate Soap, 3 feet tall lollipops, and dispensers with everything in them from candy sugar to bubble gum bath fizz.

Dylan's also (and best of all) offers catered parties! For kids, their minis pizzas followed by face painting, necklace making, and of course candy covered birthday cake. For more adult parties, their is chips and guacamole followed by drinks. They even provide the decor which includes candy floral decorations, ballon sculptures, and your favorite candies in a dish. Even favors are special, like personalized lollipops and candy machines.

So if you're in NYC, Houston, or Orlando you need to go and check them out!

Julia Roberts buys infamous English pram

According to US Magazine, Julia Roberts has recently purchased the Balmoral Pram from Silver Cross Pram for her twins Phin and Hazel. The famed English pram company has sold prams to the likes of Gwenyth Paltrow, Jerry Hall, and Elizabeth Hurley for their little ones. Celebrities like the pram, the company says, because it provides a lot of privacy for the baby and keeps photographers for getting shots of their babies.

It's also been used in many movies, and is even featured carrying a baby alien on the Men In Black ride at Universal Studios Orlando.

The Balmoral Pram can be purchased online at PoshTots.com.
